The wildfire between Yellowknife and Behchokǫ̀ continues to hold at just over 14,000 hectares and approximately 11km from Highway 3.
According to NWT Fire, there remains no threat to communities at the time; however, heavy smoke continues to affect the capital and the surrounding area.
NWT Fire says Highway 3 remains open, but travellers should proceed with caution due to delays, crews, and reduced visibility.
Crews say low hanging smoke continues to slow efforts to reduce the blaze, but actions on the fire will resume when conditions permit.
