An 18-year-old accused of starting two car fires in Yellowknife this week has been arrested and charged.
RCMP say Johnny Junior Martin faces two counts of arson.
Police believe 22-year-old Steven Tsetta was also involved, and a warrant for his arrest has been issued.
The pair are suspected of starting a car fire on Latham Island’s Otto Drive early on Tuesday morning. That fire destroyed the car and caused damage to a deck.
Later that morning, a second vehicle fire was reported near the Copper Sky condominiums. RCMP are calling that incident an “attempted arson”.
The fire marshal is investigating in both instances. Martin is due in court on Thursday.
