Hindu statesman Rajan Zed to read Hindu mantras at NWT Legislative Assembly

Hindu mantras are scheduled to be read for the first time in the upcoming Legislative Assembly on August 21.

Hindu statesman Rajan Zed is set to read the remarks from ancient Sanskrit scriptures. After Sanskrit delivery, he will read the English interpretation of the prayers.

Zed says he plans to read lines from Upanishads and Bhagavad-Gita (Song of the Lord), both traditional Hindu scriptures, and plans to start and end the prayer with “Om”, the syllable believed to contain the universe.

According to the GNWT, Zed is a global Hindu and interfaith leader and received the World Interfaith Leader Award in 2022.

Additionally, Zed currently serves as President of the Universal Society of Hinduism and a Senior Fellow/Religious Advisor for Foundation for Religious Diplomacy.
