Due to the risk of fire in the area, a fire ban has been put ino place at Hay River Territorial Park, prohibiting open fires. This ban, along with any regional rie bans imposed by NWT Fire, is effective immediately and will be in place until June 7, 2024.
Camp stoves, enclosed barbecues, and propane-fueled cooking and heating devices are permitted in NWT Parks. However, they must be placed within regulation fire pits and should not emit a flame more than 0.5 metres in diameter and 0.5 metres in height.
