Somebody in Yellowknife is missing a dock

Police in Yellowknife are trying to track down the owner of a mystery dock with nomadic tendencies.

In anĀ unusual case of lost property, RCMP say they can’t figure out who owns a dock found adrift in Back Bay last month.

Now, they’re asking local residents for help.

According to police, the Yellowknife Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary (CCGA) received a report of a large dock adrift in the bay on June 16.

“There were safety concerns for boaters in the area, due to the obstruction the dock created on the water.Ā The CCGA rescued the dock and the RCMP began investigating to find the owner,” read a police statement.

Sgt Stu Hunter, from the RCMP’s emergency planning division, said: “This is a substantial piece of equipment and we’d like to locate the owner so we can return the dock.”

If you have any information, or you’ve only just noticed that your dock appears to be missing, contactĀ Yellowknife RCMP at (867) 669-1111.
