The GNWT has officially opened up applications for the GNWT’s Evacuation Travel Support Program.
The program will provide funding for NWT residents who evacuated their home community by their own vehicle due to the ongoing wildfire situation sweeping the territory.
Applicants who evacuated to a southern jurisdiction are eligible for $750 per vehicle and residents who chose to evacuate within the NWT are eligible to receive $400 per vehicle.
Residents may apply for the Evacuation Travel support program online or by downloading an application form. Additionally, printed forms will be made available at NWT Evacuation Centres.
