Yellowknife Library Holding Contest to Encourage Reading Indigenous Stories

The Yellowknife Public Library is holding a special Indigenous Family Reading contest over the courase of June.

Families with children between the ages of 3 to 8 are encouraged to read five different books from Canadian Indigenous authors. The library will provide cards for participants to write down the book and author names, which will then need to be resubmitted to the library. Participants can either drop off the cards in person, email a picture to the library, or put the card in an envelope and deliver it to the YPL book drop.

Participants are encouraged to write down what their favourite stories were and why they picked them.

Four prize packages are available to win, and the draw will take place on July 3rd.
