Yellowknife RCMP Apprehend Robbery Suspect

Yellowknife RCMP have just arrested a suspect in a business robery case.

On November 29th, 2022, the Yellowknife RCMP received a report of a panic alarm at a business on 50th Street in Yellowknife. Dispatchers were able to speak with the staff at the business who indicated a man had just robbed the location. Multiple police officers attended, including plainclothes police officers, and were able to locate the suspect running through an alley by the business. A foot chase ensued which resulted in the suspect being taken into custody without incident. During the course of the arrest, and based upon their risk assessment, a plain-clothes police officer did draw and display their firearm.

Multiple charges related to this robbery are pending against a 32-year-old man from Yellowknife, who remains in police custody. The matter remains under investigation.
