A missing man was found dead in Tuktoyaktuk yesterday
The body of John Holliday has been found in the Tuktoyaktuk harbour, the RCMP announced in a press release today.
Tuktoyaktuk RCMP worked with multiple agencies, volunteers and members of Holliday’s family in a marine, air, and ground search since he was reported missing on Wednesday, August 1st.
RCMP asked the public for help finding him yesterday.
Holliday was found in Tuktoyaktuk Harbour around noon yesterday and was pronounced dead at the scene. RCMP attended the scene and recovered the body.
The NWT Coroner Service has ordered a post-mortem examination and RCMP are assisting the coroner’s investigation.
“The RCMP would like to thank the volunteers, Tuktoyaktuk Search and Rescue, Community Government of Tuktoyaktuk, and all agencies that assisted with the search,” the press release states.
“Our condolences to the family.”
