Many NWT Parks Closing for the Season

NWT Parks has announced that a number of parks in the Territories have either closed already, or will soon be closing for the winter season.

All of the parks in the Beufort Delta are now closed. In the Dehcho region, the Fort Simpson and Sambaa Deh parks will be closing on September 15th, and the Blackstone park will be closed on the 25th.

In the North Slave region, all parks have been closed since mid-August. As for the South Slave region, the Little Buffalo River Falls and Fort Providence parks will be closed on September 15th, while all other parks have already been closed.

NWT Parks have said in a statement that this summer has been unusual for mamy campers, and that many of the parks had to be closed prematurely due to the wildfire situations. For campers who still have RVs and other pieces of property at the parks, they will be able to retrieve them once it is safe to do so.
