On August 7th, 2023, members of the Hay River RCMP conducted a traffic check stop.
During the stop, officers came into contact with a 21-year-old woman showing signs of alcohol impairment.
Police promptly asked the woman to provide samples of her breath into a roadside screening device. The device determined the woman was over the legal limit and she was placed under arrest and transported to the Hay River Detachment.
Police say the woman provided additional breath samples and it was determined her BAC was over the legal limit.
The woman has since been released for court at a future date and charges of impaired driving are pending.
