At around midnight on July 23rd, 2023, Hay River RCMP conducted a traffic check stop for impaired drivers.
During the very first vehicle check, officers determined the driver was impaired. The man was promptly arrested and transported to the Hay River Detachment.
Upon arrival, the man provided breath samples to the RCMP, which confirmed the officers’ suspicion that the man was over the legal limit.
The 62-year-old Hay River local was released later that day in anticipation of a future court date.
