Shooting at downtown apartment being investigated

Yellowknife RCMP are looking for a suspect in relation to a shooting on May 26th at a downtown apartment building, known as Grayling Manor on 53rd Street between the hours of 12 a.m. and 1 a.m.

In the early morning hours on Sunday, police responded to a call for service at the downtown apartment building, they attended the location and found a 25-year-old man, who had suffered a gunshot wound. The man was transported by ambulance to Stanton Territorial Hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening injury.

Police Dog Services and Forensic Identification services attended the scene and processed the area. At this point, the evidence gathered indicates this was an isolated incident.

General duty members and Yellowknife General Investigation Section (GIS) are continuing to investigate and ask anyone with information on this or any suspicious activity to contact Yellowknife RCMP at 867-669-1111.
