A Yellowknife family is days away from owning a brand new home.

Habitat for Humanity Northwest Territories finished building their latest project. The single family home is located in Old Town.

President of Habitat for Humanity NWT, Dave Hurley, says the family has worked the last month and a half on the house, helping them get acquainted to their soon-to-be new home.

It’s been nice having them there, helping and getting used to it,” says Hurley. “It’s a rewarding experience when you get to hand the keys over to a family who will now be able to live in this home. Everyone dreams about owning a home at some point in their lives, and we get to help make that dream come true.

The keys will be given to the Jean Claude Quelette-Landry & Morgan Hailey Ranseth family next Wednesday. It will be HBH-NWT’s third home in four years.

Hurley says the next home built by Habitat for Humanity NWT should be available in roughly two years.
