Ice thickness testing underway in Yellowknife area

Ice thickness testing is underway in the Yellowknife area.

The testing, which began Wednesday, is being conducted by the city and the Great Slave Snowmobile Association.

For the safety of all residents, people are asked to refrain from going on any ice until it measures at least six inches thick.

The city says it will provide updates every Monday now that testing has officially begun.
