Yellowknife to Increase Rates for Parking Meters

In the next few weeks, the parking meters spread across the City of Yellowknife will all be having their rates increased.

This comes after the City Council passed an amendment to the Fees and Charges By-Law back in February.

Starting on April 17th and running until April 30th, officers of the Municipal Enforcement Division will be making their way across the city and updating the meters one by one. During this period, residents may notice that some meters will have the updated rates, while others will have the old rates. Once all of the meters have been changed to the new rate, and update will be launched for the Passport Parking Canada App to match.

As for the rates themselves, one and two-hour meters have been increased to $2.50 per hour, and rates for 9-hour meters have been increased to $1.00 per hour.

More information on parking rates can be found on the City’s website.
