More options for outpatient lab services are now available at the Stanton Territorial Hospital in Yellowknife.
The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority made the announcement earlier this week, and provided a list of the major changes that visitors can now take advantage of. Those who require outpatient services can simply visit in person as they always could before, and there is also the option of calling ahead of time and booking an appointment. Now, however, visitors to the lab at STH can show up in person and be provided with a timeslot to return to later that same day.
This change is expected to help eliminate the overflow from the waiting rooms, and provide visitors with more flexibility throughout their day. This decision was made after reviewing feedback sent in by the Office of Client Experience. The NTHSSA has been working on improving service options for the lab for some time now, and they have expressed their thanks to residents for their patience.
As the location is experiencing ongoing repairs, the NTHSSA is also reminding locals that the Outpatient Laboratory Collections remains closed at the Yellowknife Primary Care Centre for the time being.
