Charges Laid in Child Luring Investigation in Deline

On December 11th, the Northwest Territories RCMP Internet Child Exploitation Unit concluded a several months long child luring investigation in Délı̨nę, NT.

On April 26th, the Délı̨nę RCMP executed a search a warrant at a residence in Délı̨nę in relation to a complaint of child luring over the internet.  As a result of the investigation and the warrant execution, a 19-year-old man from Délı̨nę was arrested on December 11th, and has been charged with luring a child, extortion and making sexually explicit material available to a child.

Troy Beaulieu 19, of Délı̨nę, was released before a Justice of the Peace with conditions and a scheduled first court appearance in February of 2024. Beaulieu’s conditions include:

  • No contact or communications with people under the age of 16;
  • Not to obtain of continue employment or volunteer in a capacity that involves being in a position of trust or authority to a person under the age of 16, and;
  • Not to use a computer or computer-related devices to communicate with anyone under the age of 16 years old.

The investigation into this incident remains on-going.
