Drugs and Firearms Seized in Fort Resolution RCMP Investigation

On December 13th, the Fort Resolution RCMP began an investigation into drug trafficking in the Hamlet of Fort Resolution. As a result of this investigation the RCMP arrested 24-year-old Leron Andrew John of Edmonton, Alberta and recovered 158 grams of suspected cocaine, $4080 cash, a long gun and a prohibited weapon in the form of brass knuckles.

John is also charged in relation to an assault and pointing a firearm incident that took place in Fort Resolution on October 16th. On that date RCMP in for Resolution were told that a man was being held at gun point at a residence in Fort Resolution. RCMP responded to the residence and found that the suspect had fled and that the victim had been assaulted but was not seriously injured.

John remains in custody, and has received several charges. For the December 13th incident, he has been charged with Trafficking a Controlled Substance, Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a weapon, and Possession of the proceeds of crime. For the October 16th incident, he has been charged with Unauthorized possession of a firearm, and uttering threats.
