Earlier this week, City of Yellowknife Councilor Steve Payne, the Yellowknife Chamber of Commerce, the Salvation Army and Northwestel kicked off their annual toy drive at the Yellowknife Northwestel Retail Centre.
All toys donated at the Northwestel Yellowknife Retail Centre will be collected by the Yellowknife Salvation Army – benefiting hundreds of local families during the holidays. New and unwrapped toys can be sent to the collection location by December 11th to support local charitable organizations.
Northwestel and partners hope to overflow the box so as many kids as possible in the community can benefit. Northwestel also announced at the kick off that it is donating $5,000 to the Yellowknife Salvation Army Holiday Giving Campaign.
