On October 10th, the Yellowknife RCMP responded to a complaint of a robbery at an Old Town business. RCMP attended and were told that a male had come into the business and stuffed merchandise into a duffel bag before trying to leave. A store employee was assaulted when they tried to intervene and prevent the man from leaving. RCMP were able to obtain surveillance footage from the business and later identified the man.
31-year-old Kelly Canadian of Yellowknife has been charged with robbery in relation to this incident. Canadian was arrested and has been remanded in custody until Friday pending a subsequent court appearance.
