Members of the public are invited to attend an upcoming election forum, hosted by a coalition of NWT non-profit organizations.
There are six organizations involved in this event: Status of Women’s Council of the NWT, YWCA NWT, Northern Mosaic Network, Yellowknife Women’s Society, Native Women’s Association of the NWT, and NWT Seniors’ Society.
These organizations operate throughout the territory to address a number of social issues and create systematic changes, while advocating for the rights and well-being of women, elders, Indigenous communities and 2SLGBTQIPA+ people.
The forum will take place on November 2nd at 6:30pm MT in the Baker Community Centre, located at 5710 Franklin Avenue. It will feature questions posed by each hosting organization, and will offer residents the opportunity to hear candidates’ ideas for creating a more just, inclusive and equitable Northwest Territories.
All candidates in the Yellowknife and Tu Nedhé-Wiilideh ridings are invited to participate. For those unable to attend in-person, the event will be streamed over Zoom and on Facebook.
