After a visit to the Diamond Capital, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is continuing his NWT tour with stops in Hay River on Wednesday, October 11th.
According to Prime Minister Trudeau’s website, the PM’s first visit to Yellowknife since 2017 mainly consisted of “private meetings” in Yellowknife, with no additional details regarding what was discussed in the meetings.
In Hay River, Trudeau is scheduled to meet with local community leaders and visit local sites impacted by the recent wildfire situation that ravaged the area over the summer.
Additionally, meetings between the Prime Minister and first responders, Métis leaders, and First Nations leaders in the South Slave are scheduled for the 11th as well.
