With the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation coming up this weekend, the City of Yellowknife is preparing to celebrate the day with a special event, organized by the Yellowknife Dene First Nation.
Coming up on Saturday, September 30th, the Ndilo Gym will be hosting a six-hour gathering for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Starting at 2:00pm and running until 8:00pm, the event will see a Feeding the Fire ceremony to kick things off, followed by opening remarks from Indigenous leaders.
The rest of the event will see presentations from various guest speakers, as well as a sharing circle for those who wish to let others hear their stories. The day will end with a feast and Drum Dance.
