Three injured in Ingraham Trail crash, alcohol and distracted driving suspected by investigators

The Yellowknife RCMP responded to a single vehicle motor collision on the Ingraham Trail on September 18, 2023. 

According to police, shortly after 6:00 pm, RCMP were dispatched to a complaint of a single motor vehicle collision near Madelaine Lake on the Ingraham Trail. 

Officers were advised the vehicle left the roadway and one of the occupants was trapped inside.

Upon arrival, members of the RCMP and the Yellowknife Fire Division determined there were three occupants in the vehicle at the time of the collision. According to reports, all three occupants suffered non-life threatening injuries; however, all occupants were transported to Stanton Territorial Hospital for treatment.

Police later learned that one occupant was reported to have serious and “potentially life-altering” injuries as a result of the accident. 

The incident remains under investigation and police say alcohol and distracted driving are suspected factors.
