Inuvik RCMP partners with the Town of Inuvik to support ATV safety

Inuvik residents have reportedly expressed numerous concerns regarding ATV usage within municipal boundaries.

As a result, the Town of Inuvik and the local RCMP detachment have partnered on a campaign to raise awareness, and remind/enforce local laws and bylaws surrounding the operation of ATV’s.

Residents are reminded that in order to legally operate an ATV within town limits and on highways, the rider must have a valid driver’s license, insurance, and all passengers and riders must wear a helmet.

“Failure to comply with these requirements can result in fines or having your ATV impounded,” the RCMP says.

The RCMP adds they will be out in the community in the coming days to educate riders and enforce ATV regulations.
