The GNWT announced today Yellowknife Airport staff have shifted their resources to Deh Cho Boulevard.
The Yellowknife Airport team has remained in the city throughout the evacuation process to ensure safe operation of the airport as flights continue in and out of the capital.
The shift to Deh Cho allows essential staff such as airfield maintenance crews and fire crews to stack and haul brush from the cut line for 12 hours a day, while YZF heavy equipment maintenance staff support through repairs.
The GNWT says the airport team will continue to provide assistance in other areas of the city while still operating the Yellowknife airport safely.
