GNWT announces $375,000 investment for commercial art grants

The GNWT has announced a $375,000 investment in a new Arts Economic Development Pilot Program (AEDPP) to help commercial artists in the NWT.

According to the GNWT, the AEDPP aims to develop product inventory for artists and allow local artists to export their works beyond territorial boundaries.

This pilot program is another step forward for the GNWT in improving programs and services that foster the growth and sustainability within the NWT arts economy.” Minister of Industry Tourism and Investment Caroline Wawzonek says.

To be eligible for the new funding, artists must be NWT residents and demonstrate they create art for commercial purposes.

All products must be created between April 1, 2023, and March 31, 2024, and grants will be rolled out in the order they are received until the $375,000 budget is fully utilized.
