The Yellowknife Fire Division received a call for service on Monday, May 22, at 7:45 pm to a structure fire on Lamoureux Road. Four fire apparatus and 19 firefighters responded to the call.
Upon arrival, crews determined a camper on the side of the home was engulfed in flames. The crew acted quickly and successfully contained the camper fire.
The Yellowknife Fire Division continued operations and determined the fire had extended into the attic space and crawlspace under the home. Through continued effort the crew was able to limit the spread and bring the fire under control.
No injuries were reported and the homeowner’s dog was rescued from inside the structure.
The scene has been turned over to the Office of the Fire Marshal for further investigation.
