RCMP Respond to Incident in Community of Sambaa K’e

In the evening hours of October 19, 2022, Fort Simpson RCMP received a complaint in Saamba K’e of a male who had threatened a female while brandishing a firearm. The male then fled the residence and his whereabouts were unknown. Fort Simpson RCMP, with support from the “G” Division Police Dog Services and Emergency Response Team, responded to the complaint via charter aircraft.

At approximately 03:30 am on October 20, the male was located at another residence in the community and arrested without incident. The firearm was not recovered.

The 43-year-old male is in custody with criminal charges of Uttering Threats, Possession of a Firearm for a Dangerous Purpose and Possession of a Firearm without a Licence pending against him.
