The condition of a worker who was involved in an accident at Aurora Ford Yellowknife has improved, according to the company’s vice-president.
Lee Cawson, vice president of Aurora Ford, says he hasn’t had word whether the individual involved in the accident has been moved from the intensive care unit.
Cawson added the Workers’ Safety and Compensation Commission had concluded its initial investigation. Results from the full investigation could take months, according to Cawson.
He said it is likely the accident was caused by a faulty sump pump, which is used to pump water that has collected in the wash bay in the garage.
The incident, first reported by Cabin Radio, happened on Saturday, when a man was rushed to Stanton Territorial Hospital after being involved in an accident with electricity.
The Yellowknife branch of Aurora Ford was closed Sunday and Monday to allow the investigation to take place. Some staff took the days following the incident off and Cawson said counsellors were available in store Tuesday for staff to speak with.
