Community indoor garage sale moves to May 24

The city of Yellowknife announced the return of their longstanding community Indoor Garage Sale on May 24, moved up from the originally announced date of May 31.

The community tradition is all about finding “hidden treasures and great deals” all under one roof in a “sustainable” shopping experience.

“The Indoor Garage Sale has been a long-standing community tradition in Yellowknife, with its first event dating back to approximately 1997,” Saxon Chung, the city’s corporate communications advisor, told True North FM.

The garage sale will take place at the Multiplex – in the Shorty Brown Arena on 41 Kam Lake Road in Yellowknife.

“Vendor registration is currently open and will close on Thursday, May 22 at 9:00 a.m. Vendors are welcome to set up their booth on Friday, May 23, between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.,” said  Chung in a recent announcement.

Admission is free. Vendor registration is open until May 29 at 9:00 a.m.

Registration is open online via the city’s registration & booking system or in person at City Hall or the Fieldhouse. The cost is $23 per table. There is a table limit of two tables per person.

Food vendors are not permitted at the event, as the city has an exclusive agreement with a contracted concession operator, said Chung.

The city asks anyone who would like more information and event details to contact [email protected].
