Thousands of residents gathered in the heart of Yellowknife on July 1st for the annual Canada Day festivities.

As always, the day began with sidewalks packed to the brim with spectators for the Canada Day Parade, which ran from the Somba K’e Civic Plaza, down Franklin Avenue, and came to an end at Forrest Drive.

Afterwards, many locals gathered back at the park to enjoy live music and entertainment, food served by local vendors, and the unparalleled sense of community that Yellowknife offers.

While the day was warmer than most have been this summer, it did little to dampen the moods of everyone in the park.
