Yellowknife RCMP have confirmed a body found this morning near Frame Lake is that of 15-year-old Cassidy Giroux.
Giroux was last seen Friday evening in the Yellowknife area and reported missing by her family yesterday. Yellowknife Search and Rescue and the Civilian Air Search and Rescue began a ground and air search Monday which stretched into the late evening.

The search continued Tuesday morning. At around 9:15 a.m. a search team located Giroux’s body off of the Frame Lake trail between Matonabee Street and Albatross Crescent.
The Yellowknife RCMP and NWT Coroners Service are investigating but do not suspect any ‘criminality’ is involved.
“At this time, although a postmortem examination has not yet been completed, investigators do not suspect any criminality is involved,” states Cst. Heather Cosenzo with the Yellowknife RCMP.
“Our thoughts are with the family, friends, classmates, and all those affected during this difficult time and Yellowknife RCMP would like to acknowledge the assistance provided by Yellowknife Search and Rescue, CASARA, the media, and the community.”
