A threat that was made against a Yellowknife aviation company on Friday has been ruled a hoax.
The threat was called in around noon, however police did not reveal the nature of it or which company it targeted.
After conducting a thorough investigation, police determined that the threat was unsubstantiated.
“The incident has been determined to have been a hoax and all leads are being followed up by the police,” read a statement issued by Yellowknife RCMP.
Police spokesperson Marie York-Condon added: “The RCMP is thankful this was determined to be false, but we remind the public that making threats of any nature should not be considered a hoax or a prank.
“A threat of harm to the public can generate fear, and is a burden on valuable public safety resources.”
