Poor air quality warnings in effect across NWT

Communities across the territories are currently under a number of air quality warnings, including Watti, Fort Simpson, the Deninu Kue First Nation, Behchokǫ̀ and the city of Yellowknife.

NWT’s air quality site cautions that Watti is subject to health warnings of emergency conditions.

“Health warning of emergency conditions: everyone is more likely to be affected with 24 hours of exposure,” according to a warning on the territorial air quality website.

Fort Simpson is also under a high-level air quality warning.

Yellowknife,  the Deninu Kue First Nation and Behchokǫ̀ are also under air quality advisories, especially for anyone who is sensitive to air pollution.

Air quality is acceptable. However, there may be a risk for some people with 24 hours of exposure, particularly those who are unusually sensitive to air pollution,” according to an advisory for Yellowknife  on the territorial air quality website.
