Two women from Inuvik have been arrested and charged with the murder of a 39-year-old man.
The man’s body was reported to Inuvik RCMP early in the morning on August 25th. The body was discovered behind a building in Inuvik.
The “G” Division Major Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Section were mobilized and brought to the community, where they determined that the man was the victim of a homicide.
After the following investigation, 24-year-old Annabelle Edwards and 20-year-old Felicia Elanik were both arrested and charged with Murder in the second degree, and Performing an Indignity to Human Remains.
Both have already appeared before a Justice of the Peace, and are currently being held in custody until a later court appearance in Yellowknife on September 3rd.
