At the end of the month, over fifty athletes from the NWT will be participating in the 2024 Canada 55+ Games.
The event will be taking place in Quebec City from August 27th to the 30th. The athletes from the North will be competing in sports such as Men’s Ice Hockey, Ice Curling, Golf, Tennis, Table Tennis, 8-ball Pool, and many others.
The Canada 55+ Games combine physical and intellectual skills, and serve as a way to encourage healthy living in adults over the age of 55. In order to take part in the events, members must have participated in their respective Regional Games, or submit an Expression of Interest form.
This year will see over 2,200 athletes and 600 supporters from all around the country. These games have been held since 1996, and this will be the first time they have been held in Quebec.
