July is Lakes Appreciation Month, and Living Lakes Canada is once again running their annual Lake Biodiversity Photo Challenge for the fourth year in a row.
In keeping with previous years, the contest will be set into four categories. The first is Lake Landscapes for most beautiful images. The second is Lake Biodiversity for photos that feature the most plants and animals. The third is Lake Impacts, for photos that demonstrate any threats to a lake’s health. The final category is the Youth Category for photos submitted by anyone under the age of 16.
New to this year, Living Lakes is partnering with the Canadian Conservation Photographers, who are committed to ethical nature photography. For this year’s contest, they are encouraging participants to abide by the Code of Ethics for Nature Photography and prioritize the well-being of the environment and wildlife while out taking pictures.
Everybody who enters the contest will be eligible to win. There will be a total of eight winners, with a grand prize of an online photography workshop up for grabs, as well as age-appropriate prizes for all other winners.
Photos can be submitted at lakeblitzphoto.livinglakescanada.ca.
