Inspections Coming to NWT Healthcare Facilities

NWT Residents are being advised that the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority will be undergoing on-site accreditation surveys in the next few days.

These surveys are intended to determine the safety and efficiency of the various hospitals, health clinics, and care facilities across the Territory. They will be conducted by trained personnel from Accreditation Canada, which works with health, social and community service organizations to advance quality and safety.

The accreditation process is a quality improvement process that supports efforts to improves health and social services in Canada. Once the surveys are completed, Accreditation Canada will be looking over the results and determine what changes, if any, need to be made to the inspected facilities.

The NTHSSA states that they aim to offer culturally safe and high quality health care that aims to continue its improvements. These surveys will be taking place from April 21st to April 26th.
