Inuvik Airport to begin Removing Abandoned Vehicles

The Inuvik Airport will now be removing vehicles that are left in their parking lot for an extended period of time.

The new policy will be going into effect on April 30th. Any vehicle that is left parked at the Mike Zubko Airport for more than three months will be considered abandoned and will be towed away. The responsibility will then be on the owners of those vehicles to retrieve them.

As of May 1st, anyone who wishes to leave their vehicle at the airport for over a month must make those arrangements with the manager.

The Inuvik airport has been encountering issues with vehicles taking up space and interfering with maintenance activities. As part of the Motor Vehicles Act, the NWT has the authority to remove abandoned vehicles.
