YK1 Superintendent Welcomes Students Back to Schools

As students and teachers prepare to return to school after the evacuations, Jameel Aziz, the Superintendent and CEO of the YK1 School District sent out a welcoming message.

Aziz says that he is excited that he and the staff will be able to welcome everyone back on Thursday. He also shares that “all 12 bus routes will be up and running for the first day of school, but the processing of issuing bus passes has been delayed for three weeks, and will not be completed by September 14th.”

Aziz states that if families have any bus passes from last year, they will be able to use it for the month while the new passes are processed.

The Superintendent expects that there will be a bit of confusion in the startup, and he thanks the families for their patience with them and the system while they get things sorted out. He reminds drivers to keep an eye out for children walking to school.

More information relating to events open houses, and other activities will be released as they draw closer.
