Yellowknife RCMP responded to a serious assault outside of the community of Dettah, NT on March 2nd, 2022.
On March 2nd, 2022, Yellowknife RCMP received a complaint that a man had been seriously injured inside a residence on the Dettah Access Road. Yellowknife RCMP attended and located a 52 year-old man suffering from serious injuries. As a result of the investigation, 42 year-old man was arrested on scene.
The victim was transported to the Stanton Territorial Hospital with serious injuries and subsequently transferred to the University Of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta.
42 year-old Andrew Lafferty of Dettah has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Assault with a Weapon. Lafferty’s next court appearance is coming later today. The investigation is ongoing.
