Hay river RCMP are investigating yet another possible attempt at arson.
On February 10th, officers were called to a home at 3 Elm Crescent, which was under renovation at the time, and found evidence of fire damage to the exterior of the building.
The suspects are believed to have used some kind of petroleum product in their attempt to destroy the home. the only damage to the building seems to be to the siding on the exterior.
this is the second arson investigation RCMP have begun in as many weeks. On February 4th, officers investigated a similar incident where unknown suspects used two Molotov Cocktails to try and burn down the same residence. That home also sustained damage to the siding, as well as a single broken window pane. Nobody has yet been hurt in either incident.
Motivations for either case are unknown at the moment. RCMP are investigating both incidents, and take the disregard for the safety of others and their property very seriously.
