Hay River council supports wireless provider bringing more 4G options

Hay River council signed a letter of support for a wireless company who is trying to provide 4G LTE cell service in town.

Ice Wireless, a telecoms company launched in Inuvik in 2005, is applying for funding under the federal Universal Broadband Fund to expand their services to the municipality.

Ice Wireless chief administrative officer Cameron Zubko wrote to Hay River Mayor Kandis Jameson asking the town to write a letter in support of its application.

According to town council documents, the provider plans to make these upgrades within two years of the application being approved.
