Northwest Territories skip Jamie Koe suffered his sixth straight defeat as a miserable week at curling’s Brier continued.
John Morris and Team Canada beat the NWT 6-3 on Tuesday afternoon, following an 11-3 defeat by Manitoba that morning.
Koe and the NWT remain winless at the men’s national championship.
Standings: Round robin at the Brier
“Any suggestions?” Tweeted Koe on Tuesday as the run of defeats continued. That morning, he had simply tweeted: “#badcurler“.
The NWT’s results are testing the team’s “keep calm and Koe on” maxim to the limit.
“Apparently there is practice ice,” Koe had tweeted on Monday. In a light-hearted response, governing body Curling Canada claimed it was Koe’s first trip to the Brier’s after-hours practice ice in nine years.
Meanwhile, brother Kevin Koe – leading the Alberta team at the Brier – has recovered from a brief bout of sickness he attributed to either food poisoning or a flu bug.
The Koe brothers face each other in round-robin play on Wednesday evening.
