After a sudden resignation at City Hall, the job of overseeing Yellowknife’s budget could be yours.

The City of Yellowknife has posted an ad for a new director of corporate services following the departure of Carl Bird (pictured), who resigned with immediate effect last week.

Bird said he was leaving for personal reasons, telling the Yellowknifer newspaper he was relocating to Montreal.

The role he vacates includes that of chief financial officer – putting together the city’s budget and setting tax rates, in accordance with decisions taken by city councillors.
