The episode, which aired in December 2014, featured 12 Green Berets and 12 paratroopers participating in a D-Day tribute jump near Bighorn River in Alberta.

Last year, the History Channel show – which ran for six seasons – beat out four other programs to win Best Factual Program or Series. While it was up for nomination again this year, CBC’s Still Standing took home the award.

Winners in 50 categories were unveiled in Toronto during Tuesday’s non-televised event.

The Canadian Screen Awards continue Wednesday night, honouring drama, children’s and youth, comedy and variety categories.

The televised awards show will be broadcast on CBC Sunday night, when prizes in the acting categories, and for best movie and TV shows, will be handed out.
