“(W)e have been able to verify an adequate number of staff at École St. Patrick High School have proof of measles vaccination, and will reopen tomorrow,” said Yellowknife Catholic Schools in a statement released on social media and on their website this afternoon.
The school is re-opening its doors to students as of May 7.
The board concluded their announcement by emphasizing the importance of safety and co-operation with measles precautions.
The closure of École St. Patrick High School came at the heels of a measles case confirmation in the city of Yellowknife.
“For the safety of our school communities, ESPHS and WCS students who have not yet received two MMR vaccinations are required to remain at home. Please contact Public Health at 867-767-9120 for information on the necessary steps to ensure your child can safely return to school,” urged Adam Murray, who is the superintendent of the Yellowknife Catholic Schools.
