The Lakeshore Co-op is once again showing what community spirit looks like, bringing back its annual Easter Food Drive this weekend—a tradition that’s helped support families in the North year after year.
This weekend, shoppers will be able to purchase $30 pre-packed food hampers at the store, which will go directly to the YWCA NWT to support local women and families in need. It’s a simple way to give back, and a reminder that small actions—like picking up an extra hamper while doing your own shopping—can have a big impact.
This year’s food drive includes a special moment at 12:00 noon Saturday, when the Lakeshore Co-op Board of Directors will be presenting a significant donation to the YWCA. Shoppers and community members are encouraged to stop by, say hello, and hear from YWCA representative Julie Green who will be accepting the cheque for the YWCA.
The Co-op has long been known for stepping up when the community needs it, and the Easter Food Drive is just one of many ways they continue to give back. From supporting food security to empowering local programs, the Co-op remains a strong thread in the fabric of Yellowknife life.
If you can, pop in over the weekend—not just to donate, but to be part of something that truly brings the community together.
